We are happy to report that the first market of the year at Pirates Sports Club was a great success. We had double the number of people visiting us compared to the old venue, as well as a much larger variety of great food stalls. Patrons loved the fact that it was outdoors, on grass and under trees. Kids could run around freely, and really enjoyed the jumping castle! Adults could sit down, enjoy a glass of wine and eat a leisurely lunch from the various vendor food stalls. By Johannesburg standards this market is refreshingly unique, as most markets trade in and around shopping malls. It’s on every Saturday from 8h30. This Saturday 29th, there will be close to 40 stalls to feast on – let’s hope we see you there.
Jozi Food Market is an outdoor artisans’ market in the heart of the Johanneburg Northern Suburbs – based at the Pirates Sports Club, Braeside Rd, Greenside, Johannesburg.
The focus is on offering the best fresh food to customers – and the aim is to get people to support LOCAL small businesses as an alternative to the canned, preservative filled produce on supermarket shelves. Its a healthy and fun way to shop as well – its outdoors, customers can relax with a coffee/drink under trees, and there’s plenty of space for kids and dogs to play. For sports mad South Africans there are even TV screens in the pub, so customers can watch sport whilst shopping too!
Market Open Hours: Every Saturday 08:30 – 13:30. Pirates Sports Club, 4th Ave Extension Parkhurst, Johannesburg
