Enjoy the last Jozi Market of the year, with the Slow Food Movement’s celebration of Terra Madre Day at Jozi Market.

  • Learn more about what Slow Food is at their stand
  • It is a day to celebrate locally produced food and sustainable production from small artisan businesses
  • Support the BIZ School initiative where they sponsor and educate under-privileged matriculants about entrepreneurship:-
  • There will be several stands at Jozi where the kids will be selling Christmas-themed produce
  • Stock up on all your Jozi favourite goodies, as the market only re-opens on 14th January 2012.

“Shop outdoors this weekend instead of suffocating in a garish mall” punted the Jozi Food Market website. What a great way to spend a morning I thought and I duly set out for Parkhurst on a warm day tinged with the smell of Spring in the air. The market sets up shop under a collection of colourful umbrellas every Saturday on the lawns of the Pirates Sports Club between 8.30am and 1.30pm.The market is not large by any means and therein lies part of its charm. It’s small and personal, the majority of the products are organic and only a limited amount of freshly made products are sold every week. Continue reading

Find Jozi Food Market at the Pirate's Sports Club on 4th Ave Ext, Parkhurst.  Every Saturday Morning, at 8h30, you will be assured of finding a great variety of the freshest foodstuffs to eat at the market, or to take home. The market is outdoors, and beats any stuffy shopping mall experience. There is plenty of place for kids to play, and many tables for adults to enjoy a glass of wine.
